Organizing isn’t just about finding your shoes (but that matters, too!) Students learn how to find “things” and tasks by coordinating organizational resources in this week-long organization boot camp taught by a former project manager turned teacher (with additional training in Executive Function teaching & coaching).
“Is metric easier?” Let’s find out! Dive into the measuring system used by the rest of the world (except Liberia!). We’ll explore weight, volume and length through hands-on activities that help students get a stronger sense of metric equivalents of things they use daily. We will learn mnemonic devices for metric prefixes and see how metric measurements relate among the prefixes. We will even touch on temperature.
If you haven’t used a microscope beyond a passing looksie, come dig in and learn about this magnificent little machine and it’s amazing power. We will learn about the parts of a microscope, see the differences in magnification, do exercises for depth of field, and more. By the end of the day, you’ll know which way to move a slide to get your view to move left (clue: you don’t move the slide left!)
Short term time management, longer term projects… how do you make sure it all happens? Students learn how to juggle assignments, obligations and personal passions by coordinating time management and planning resources in this week-long planning & time management boot camp taught by a former project manager turned teacher (with additional training in Executive Function teaching & coaching).
What’s the difference between debit and credit? Bank and credit union? Cashier’s check and money order? How does compounding interest work? How do I reconcile my accounts? How big of a deal is it? So, so many questions about saving and spending! We will make sense of it all.
Solve a crime using forensic science techniques that you will learn over the course of the week including fingerprint analysis, blood spatter, fiber analysis and more. On the final day, we will work through a real crime scenario!
