Supported Flex Work Time

Students should bring all of their individual/asynchronous work materials with them.  This includes all of their usual class materials and laptop if needed.  There will be access to a student laptop for intermittent use, but not for use during the entire homework period unless by prior arrangement with the instructor.

Students may not be able to complete all of their assigned homework during these time blocks depending on their workload, their personal work pace, and their level of support needed for content, executive functioning or redirection/focus.

Consider these time blocks to be a supported study hall.  Students have access to their instructor for questions, clarifications or ideas.  If their classmates are also enrolled in this study block, they may be able to work together with an instructor checking in to be sure they are balancing socializing with productivity.

For students that are struggling with concepts, managing their workload or need some additional ideas or techniques to help with their studies – that will also be provided.

If you have a child that struggles with unsupervised online access, please contact us before registering to be sure the structure of our class is a good fit for your child.  Although students using technology sit with their screen visible to the instructor, this is for light supervision and the occasional check in more than direct supervision.
