Description

Elementary Theater Arts

Students meet on Mondays, 11:00am – Noon  Registration is for Fall 2026 semester-long course (12 weeks starting the week of Sept. 14th) but is also available for Spring 2027.

Course Content

From classical acting to light design, sound design, and costume construction, students learn it all in Theater Arts. This class combines classroom-style learning with hands-on experience for a unique study in the value of teamwork, confident decision-making, and creative expression. Come show time, each child shines in their own artistic way, either on stage, in the booth, or behind the scenes in a full-scale mini-production.

Required Materials

All students need is a folder! They will be sent home with their scripts every week, and are responsible for bringing it to class with them.

Time required outside of class

Memorization is required outside of class. We recommend elementary students spend either 15-20 minutes a few days a week or split it up into 30 minutes two days a week. They will not be required to memorize lines every week.

Is This Level a Good Fit for My Child? Parent Considerations
Five-year old students may be included in Theater Arts, and will be placed on the tech team for the final production (lights, sound, costumes). Skills required include participating on a team, the ability to use crafting supplies such as safety scissors and tape, and basic group setting etiquette.
