Unleash your child’s creativity in a fun and engaging environment where they not only create but also learn about the rich tapestry of art history. Join us on this inspiring adventure as we paint, draw, and sculpt our way through the colorful landscape of artistic discovery!

Required Materials

Students will need:

  • smock to protect clothing**
  • pencils
  • pencil sharpener with covered blade (you should not be able to touch the blade unless you remove a covering)
  • pencil bag to contain items
  • scissors
  • pocket folder

**Students can choose to wear a shirt that can be damaged under a sweater or sweatshirt rather than a smock.  Parents will be asked for their preference before first class.  Consider a possible larger family member’s old, heavyweight shirt.  Whatever is used should be easy to put on and take off, and should cover students from neck to wrist, and to hips without being so large that it gets in their way of working/moving around.

All other materials needed to complete in-class art projects are included in the cost of the course.

Time Required Outside of Class
Students may need to finish their in-class work at home, but this should not take more than 15-20 minutes per week if at all.

Parent Considerations
This is a hands-on class and students

Students who struggle to speak to others in a respectful manner would not be well-suited to this course.  Many students are sensitive to the criticism of others.  The culture of our coschool is one of respect and being able to give constructive or dissenting opinions in a way that preserves good relationships.
